AAPG and Paradigm Collaborate to Deliver Continuing Education Program
The collaboration will include jointly developed training programs and knowledge transfer

HOUSTON, Dec. 21, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Paradigm® (www.pdgm.com) and American Association of Petroleum Geologists (AAPG) have announced a joint initiative to deliver a continuing education program for AAPG members, as part of AAPG's commitment to helping its membership stay current with new trends and technologies.

In recent years, Paradigm has invested significant effort in knowledge transfer through a variety of programs, such as its Virtual Lecture Series, Paradigm Online University, Paradigm Education Series (delivered on-site and through Webinars) and Instructor-led Training.  Now, AAPG and Paradigm have agreed to jointly develop new training programs, to be presented at selected venues.

The first collaborative effort will be at the AAPG Workshop for Deepwater and Shelf Reservoirs: Big Data, New Knowledge and Analytics, to be held on January 24-25 in the Norris Conference Center in Houston. As a co-convener of this event, Paradigm has played a key role in recruiting experts in Big Data Analytics to share their knowledge with workshop attendees.  Paradigm is also expected to deliver a presentation on this topic.

In addition, Paradigm Subject Matter Experts will be featured speakers at the workshop's two Lunch and Learn sessions:

  • Tuesday, January 24: Seismic Driven Pore Pressure Prediction, presented by Joanne Wang, Paradigm Manager Integrated Geoscience Workflow Development
  • Wednesday, January 25: Diffraction and Specular Imaging for High-Resolution Seismic Interpretation, presented by Bruno de Ribet, Technology Global Director - Applied Geoscience

"Paradigm and AAPG share the belief that ongoing technological education is essential for our industry," said Indy Chakrabarti, senior vice president of Product Management and Strategy at Paradigm.  "We're very excited to be part of the upcoming AAPG workshop, which combines in-depth discussion of traditional hydrocarbon detection sciences with the fast-growing field of big data analytics. We look forward to further developing this topic, together with AAPG and other technical associations."
