Monument Economics Group President Speaks at Knowledge Group's Webinar

ARLINGTON, Va., Dec. 16, 2016 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Dr. Russell Lamb, President of Monument Economics Group LLC, was invited to speak on December 1 for Knowledge Group's live Webinar entitled "The Future of Antitrust and Competition Law Under President Trump LIVE Webcast."

Together with three prominent attorneys in the field of antitrust law (Joseph Saveri, Mitchell Raup, and Tanisha James), Dr. Lamb presented his views on how antitrust and competition law will be impacted by the incoming presidency. Dr. Lamb lent his economic expertise to discussing private anti-trust enforcement, Supreme Court vacancies, economic analysis, and how changes in case law raise the bar for plaintiffs in private anti-trust cases.

During the discussion on the future of private antitrust enforcement, Dr. Lamb noted, "Recent trends have made private antitrust enforcement more challenging for the plaintiffs than ever before. Nonetheless, cases in major antitrust litigation have recovered significant damages owing to alleged violations of the nation's antitrust laws. I am very pleased to have been involved in a number of those cases along with a large group of staff at Monument Economics Group, LLC."

The webinar went on to cover a variety of scenarios in the antitrust field and how they might be addressed under President-Elect Trump's new policies. Topics included a study on more enforcement policy rather than changes through case law, how new policies might affect health care and mergers and acquisitions within the field, and what personnel changes might be seen in the coming months.
