PITTSBURGH, Nov. 4, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- One out of every four students report being bullied during the school year, according to the National Center for Educational Statistics, and it is estimated that only one third of bullying incidents get reported.

On the positive side, more than half of bullying situations stop when a peer intervenes on behalf of the student being bullied, according to a study by Hawkins, Pepler, and Craig. The reasons for being bullied reported most often by students were looks, body shape, and race.

"I created the Young Women of Influence Conference in 2013 to show middle and high school girls how to discover their life purpose, boost their confidence, strengthen their self-esteem, and equip them to stand up to peer pressure and the constant onslaught from the media," says Anni Keffer, Author of Leadership Built On Why, Youth Leadership Speaker and Founder of www.AnniKeffer.com.

After interviewing Keffer, Leeza Gibbons, Emmy Award Winning Host and New York Times Best Selling Author, said, "Anni Keffer is an expert in leadership and identity. She is a powerful woman with the capacity to lead. She leads the way for all of us."

The conference will be led by Keffer and will feature sessions led by three other dynamic speakers, Eryn Erickson, Founder of SWL (So Worth Loving); Hannah Brencher, Author of If You Find This Letter and TED Speaker; and Tindell Baldwin, Author of Popular.

The conference will be held on January 13th and 14th, 2017 at The Warehouse Space, 5095 Post Road Cummings, Georgia 30040.

Keffer noted that the girls will learn how to have more inner confidence, make better decisions day by day, stand up to peer pressure, seek out positive role models, stop listening to the media for their identity and image, set and achieve more goals, and understand their life's purpose.

Registration is available at www.youngwomenofinfluence.com.

"If you are in middle school or high school, you need to come. You will discover the importance of having goals, dreams and aspirations. You will walk away with some really cool tools to help you keep your eye on your amazing future and make great decisions and some really cool new friends," Keffer said.
