BOSTON, Oct. 26, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- From October 26-28, DentaQuest Foundation is hosting its fourth annual Oral Health 2020 National Network Gathering in Phoenix. With an expected 400 attendees, the meeting is DentaQuest Foundation's largest convening to date, almost doubling last year's record of 250 attendees. The theme of this year's convening, "Improving Oral Health: Many Voices, Shared Leadership, Mapping the Path Forward," emphasizes DentaQuest Foundation's continued commitment to collaborating with the Oral Health 2020 network to grow tangible solutions to complex oral health care challenges and organize for health equity.

The annual national gathering is an opportunity for grantees and partners to connect in person to discuss a myriad of topics, including: progress made by the Oral Health 2020 movement in improving lifelong oral health, embracing oral health as a social justice issue, and upcoming trends that shape how we think about change, health and justice. The relationships forged and strategies developed during the three-day event will deepen the understanding of and activate the Oral Health 2020 roadmap and how it can guide actions at the national, state and community levels over the coming years.

"We are at a pivotal moment in time – not only in our health care system, but also when it comes to the work of the Oral Health 2020 movement. We stand together at this convening to recognize the progress we've made in realizing the Oral Health 2020 goals and rally together for the work that still lies ahead," said DentaQuest Foundation President Ralph Fuccillo. "We are committed to bringing leaders from all over the country together to accelerate and activate our shared vision to achieve the Oral Health 2020 goals and make oral health disparities a thing of the past."

During the convening, DentaQuest Foundation grantees and partners will also welcome Carlos Saavedra, leader in the Student Immigrant Movement and founder of the Ayni Institute, and Andrew Zolli, futurist and resilience expert, as keynote speakers on organizing for health equity, and how to change systems and our own behaviors in order to realize a healthier and more vibrant future, respectively.
