CLEVELAND, Sept. 8, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- BVU: The Center for Nonprofit Excellence invites nonprofit management, technology, fundraising and communications professionals to attend a full-day Nonprofit Technology and Communications Summit at the Huntington Convention Center of Cleveland on September 30, 2016.

BVU to Convene Region's First Technology and Communications Summit for Nonprofits

The Summit will provide an opportunity for area nonprofits to learn from leaders in the national and local technology, digital marketing and communication fields about how to plan, budget, implement and leverage technology and communications strategies.  Attendees will gain knowledge of affordable nonprofit solutions through presentations, exhibitors and networking opportunities.

"This Summit will address an underserved need of many nonprofits in our region," says Melanie Meyer, director of technology and communications, BVU.  "We want to help nonprofits make informed technology decisions and then connect them to needed resources, ultimately saving them time and money."

Keynote speaker Beth Kanter is an internationally recognized thought leader in networks, social media, and data. With 35+ years working in the sector, Beth has authored the award winning Networked Nonprofit Books and is currently working on her next book, The Happy Healthy Nonprofit: Impact without Burnout.

Support for the Summit is provided by the Cleveland Foundation.  According to Leon Wilson, chief technology & information officer, Cleveland Foundation, "BVU's Nonprofit Tech & Communication Summit is valuable and timely to nonprofits of all sizes.  In a single day, attendees will have the opportunity to network and learn about what's available for them and to hear from subject matter experts in the field how technology is used to support the social mission of nonprofits.  It's well worth the cost of admission for any nonprofit leader!"

Fathom employees, through their Fathom Gives initiative, are giving their time to assist BVU with the design of the Summit and provide digital marketing education to attendees.

Global and national industry leaders, TechSoup, TechImpact, and Idealware, will provide practical information to help nonprofits leverage technology to more effectively deliver on their mission.
