WASHINGTON, Aug. 31, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Paralyzed Veterans of America (Paralyzed Veterans) is proud to recognize the top level sponsors of its 6th annual Healthcare Summit and Expo. This year's Platinum Sponsors, ReWalk Robotics (ReWalk) and Wellspect HealthCare, are among the ten Summit sponsors who are critical to the success of this event. "Paralyzed Veterans of America is profoundly grateful to ReWalk and Wellspect Healthcare, as well as all of our corporate sponsors, for their generous support of this Summit and our organization's mission to ensure the best quality health care for our nation's veterans with spinal cord injury or disease," said National President Al Kovach, Jr.

ReWalk first attended Paralyzed Veterans' Summit in 2015, and joins the event this year as one of its two top supporters.  The innovative medical device company that is designing, developing and commercializing exoskeletons that allow some wheelchair-bound individuals to stand and walk once again, saw the benefit of engaging with the more than 800 registrants in attendance this year.

Wellspect Healthcare, joining the Summit for the first time, develops and markets healthcare products and services designed with patients' safety and comfort in mind. The company recognizes the impact of their products on the spinal cord injury community, so it signed on to support Paralyzed Veterans' Summit as its other Platinum sponsor.

"Paralyzed Veterans of America is the only veterans' organization to offer a health care summit of this kind, and we couldn't do it without the support of our sponsors," explained Kovach. "Bringing together healthcare professionals from all over the world to share best practices and learn the latest advancements in scientific research and technology is paramount in ensuring the highest standards of care for veterans and all persons with spinal cord injury or disease."

Each year, the Summit brings together doctors, nurses, occupational, recreational and physical therapists, social workers, psychologists, pharmacists and researchers to learn about the latest scientific advances, treatments and therapies in spinal cord injury or disease (SCI/D), multiple sclerosis (MS) and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). Nearly 840 health care professionals are attending the annual Summit which began Tuesday and continues through September 1 in Orlando, Florida.

The Expo is open to attendees through today and will feature more than 70 exhibitors showcasing the latest in technology, medical devices and supplies, and other equipment to assist individuals living with SCI/D, MS, and ALS to live fuller, more independent lives.
