BEIJING, May 24, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- The grand 2016 iWorld will take place at Chengdu Century City International Convention Center on August 18-21. As one of the most famed exhibitions of IDG, iWorld has been upgraded into a new format and signals a comprehensive improvement of the brand and will define the idea of "meeting the mobile eco-convergence" under the theme of "Innovation, Definition and the Future", endowing the western city of Chengdu with another unique name.

The event name iWorld represents concepts including the Internet, innovation and intelligence, highlighting the focus on the mobile Internet innovative technology, applications and smart devices. Dongfang Zhu, Vice President of IDG China, which is the organizer of the expo, said at the Press Conference on May 19: "The upgraded iWorld will become a feast for the mobile ecosystem in not only Asia but also the entire world."

The 2016 iWorld has three components - exhibition, international forum and a series of activities. The four-day expo will attract participation from companies, channel distributors, professional visitors and media outlets in the mobile ecosystem. More than 200 exhibitors with their products will kick off a professional industry gathering that interacts with more than 10,000 professional visitors, 100 media outlets and numerous channel distributors.

As the main part of the event, the 22,000m2 exhibition will demonstrate the APP, mobile Internet products, mobile entertainment products, the glamor of software cities in China, the software industry of Chengdu, smart hardware, peripheral products and protection products. One of the hotspots for this exhibition - the VR/AR exhibition area - will display the latest technology of smart furniture, smart hardware, robots, 3D printing and unmanned aerial vehicles.

In the meantime, brainstorming and insight sharing, reflecting the high levels of mobile Internet developments, will take place at this platform. At the Chengdu Century City International Convention Center, seven parallel forums will be held including iWorld Summit Forum, VR/AR Industrial Chain Interactive Experience Expo and Leadership Summit Conference, IDC Tendency Conference, Mobile Health Forum, Channel Distributor Partner Conference, Mobile Game Forum and the 10th China Chengdu International Software Design and Application Competition and Global Mobile Internet Development Creativity Competition. They will jointly create a premium communication platform for the exhibitors, channel distributors, professionals, media outlets and the end users. Among them, VR/AR, the hottest technology, has extended its influence from areas of games, movies, tourism, healthcare and education to a larger range of social life. Also attending iWorld, top-notch leaders in the VR/AR industry will sit together to share insights on the future of the industry, making the event the number one platform in the VR/AR industry to voice opinions.

As a warming-up, iWorld series activities will be held in Beijing, Chengdu and other cities starting in June. Salons, The Best Competition and Veteran Contest, will ignite passion for iWorld among the public and will also be held during the expo.

"What platform does the mobile ecosystem really need?" The mobile ecosystem that has gone through waves of shut-downs, mergers, transformations and Internet Plus is now embracing opportunities of a new economy characterized by sharing, Internet+ Startup and Innovation, and cross-border e-commerce. Nevertheless, resource integration is the key to the development of the emerging industry, and all the final answers will be revealed at 2016 iWorld.
