MISO, ARPA-E Partner for Inaugural MISO Market Symposium
Event welcomes industry leaders to explore market challenges and opportunities

CARMEL, Ind., May 16, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- MISO is partnering with the Advanced Research Projects Agency-Energy (ARPA-E) for the inaugural MISO Market Symposium on Aug. 18 – 19, 2016, in downtown Indianapolis, Ind. The event will unite MISO experts and industry thought leaders from across the country to discuss how wholesale markets can increase value for the transforming power industry. 

Recognizing that significant changes within the industry are underway, MISO is proactively bringing together thought leaders and innovators to provide insight on future market changes. Discussion will focus on the industry's evolution and what is required for the next generation of energy markets. 

Meeting this change will require harnessing innovation for the benefit of MISO members.  The U.S. Department of Energy's ARPA-E will participate in the symposium to share its vision for the future of energy technology and how innovations, including those supported by ARPA-E, can transform the power system to address future opportunities and challenges.
