Sean Hannity and Governor David Paterson to Keynote Dr. Eric Braverman's PATH Foundation NY and University of Buffalo's Landmark Conference on Battling Brain Trauma and Winning the War on Addiction in America
Scholars, Scientists, and Policy Experts to Speak about Braverman's Transformational Brain Analyses

NEW YORK, May 13, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- On May 14th, PATH Foundation NY and the University of Buffalo will host a conference and awards dinner at Canoe Studios in New York City dedicated to the current research on addiction and brain trauma in America. The full day event will include NIDA's Clinical Director Gene-Jack Wang's presentation on concussions, Pittsburgh Steelers' neurosurgeon Joe Maroon M.D.'s talk on concussions in sports, and more exciting research updates in the addiction field by world-famous doctors including Eric Nestler of Mount Sinai and Herman Stellar from Rockefeller University. Founder of PATH Foundation NY, Eric Braverman, M.D., will present his breakthrough on brain checkups that will transform U.S. healthcare.

The awards dinner following the conference will feature VIPs in the fight against addiction, including former New York Governor David Paterson, Fox News host Sean Hannity, WABC's Sid Rosenberg, NewsmaxTV's Dennis Michael Lynch, and the NFL's Leonard Marshall. The President's Drug Czar, Michael Botticelli, will address the audience virtually. Miri Ben-Ari, Grammy Award winning violin virtuoso, will perform.

"Addiction is a scary word," said Dr. Braverman. "But as you will learn from our lecturers and honorees, we are making significant progress at separating vices and comparing different addictions in order to pinpoint ideal treatments for each type of addiction. Zooming in on the molecular level and studying the chemical reactions occurring in the brain has given us a more complete and nuanced view of addiction that we hope will inspire further research. Understanding as much as we can about addiction will allow us to better treat this disease that is affecting so many Americans."

About PATH Foundation NY
PATH Foundation NY is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization focused on brain health research and improving health throughout the aging process. Founded by Fiona Druckenmiller and Eric Braverman, M.D., PATH Foundation NY was created to develop a cost-effective scientific research model by attaching a science foundation to a clinical medical practice. Dr. Braverman has worked for over 25 years with Nora Volkow, M.D. of the National Institute of Drug Abuse, and Kenneth Blum, establishing that alcohol and drug addiction genes are associated with brain problems such as obesity, attention problems, anxiety, depression, insomnia, social phobia, and violence. The foundation has published more than 100 peer-reviewed papers on the brain's connection to the body's organs and systems, developed the P300 brain mapping test, identified the DRD2 dopamine-related gene associated with addiction, and partnered with the world's leaders in addiction and brain health to ensure future neurology research.
