Endgame to Present at Black Hat USA 2016
Researchers to Brief Attendees on Hunting for and Blocking Exploits Before Damage and Loss

ARLINGTON, Va., May 11, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Endgame, the leading provider of cybersecurity software solutions to hunt for advanced adversaries, announced today that Cody Pierce, Director of Vulnerability Research and Prevention, Kenneth Fitch, Senior Vulnerability Researcher, and Matt Spisak, Senior Vulnerability Researcher, will present at Black Hat USA, taking place from July 30th - August 4th, 2016 at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas, NV. The briefing, titled "Capturing 0day Exploits with PERFectly Placed Hardware Traps" will focus on how to detect and block exploits at the earliest phase of the kill chain before damage and loss of data.

While the security industry has gone through great lengths to make exploitation more difficult, organizations continue to face weaponized exploits in malware campaigns and targeted attacks that are capable of bypassing OS and vendor exploit mitigation strategies. Current technologies force organizations to wait for threat level information to search for exploits within their systems, but by then, it's often too late. Endgame's approach proactively hunts for and blocks exploits before they gain execution, preventing the opportunity to bypass the defensive security stack.

Presentation attendees will learn:

  • The current state of exploitation and vendor defenses.
  • A new and practical approach to preventing exploitation of unknown vulnerabilities including step-by-step details on enabling these features on recent versions of Windows and Linux.
  • Using real-world exploits as case studies, attendees will learn how Control-Flow Integrity works and why it is effective. Additionally, the audience will leave with an understanding of the performance overhead of such techniques.
