Charles Brandes and Roger Lowenstein speak at the 13th Annual Value Investor Conference in Omaha

OMAHA, Neb., April 28, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Charles Brandes, CFA, Brandes Investment Partners' founder and chairman, will speak Friday, April 29 at the Value Investor Conference in Omaha, Nebraska. Brandes – in addition to his roles and responsibilities at Brandes Investment Partners – is a philanthropist and the author of Brandes on Value: The Independent Investor.

Roger Lowenstein, a prominent financial journalist and author of six books – three of them New York Times bestsellers – including Buffett: The Making of An American Capitalist, When Genius Failed, and, most recently, America's Bank, will moderate a Q&A session with Brandes, which takes place at 4:40 p.m. CDT.

The Q&A session, titled "A Disciple of the Benjamin Graham School of Value Investing," will draw from Brandes' experience as a value investor over the last four decades and the lessons learned from building a global value investment firm.

Topics of discussion include the proven Graham-and-Dodd principles; Brandes' story of meeting Ben Graham; and a selection of investment themes that exemplify how a value investor should approach the current market environment.

"Our global conference of value investors, representing all six continents and 33 countries, eagerly awaits Charles and Roger's Conversation and Q&A," said Robert P. Miles, conference director of the Value Investor Conference, author, and distinguished expert on Warren Buffett.

The annual conference – currently in its 13th year – take place at Mammel Hall, home of The University of Nebraska at Omaha's (UNO) College of Business Administration (CBA). The sold-out event brings together a diverse set of perspectives on value investing from a range of global institutional investors, CEOs, money managers, private investors, best-selling authors, and university professors. The event was created to provide shareholders of Berkshire Hathaway with a venue to meet like-minded professionals immediately ahead of the annual shareholders meeting in Omaha.
