NEW YORK, March 17, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Luxury accessories designer Deepa Gurnani has been invited to participate in the prestigious Lakmé Fashion Week. The show appropriately called India Collective, will take place on March 31 in Mumbai. Lakmé, which is the leading cosmetics company in India, is dedicated to promoting sustainable fashion on an international scale at its much-awaited 2016 show.
Lakmé chose Deepa Gurnani as one of only five fashion designers who manufacture in India but live outside of the country to participate in India Collective. For this event, Deepa Gurnani will design clothes to pair with their existing jewelry pieces, creating eight head-to-toe looks.
Through India Collective, Lakmé Fashion Week recognizes excellence and promotes designers who have built their brands in sustainable fashion with no compromise to the quality and ethics of their workmanship. The show also aims to create a powerful narrative on the runway, showcasing designers who are working with local weavers and artisans who transform their art into a global brand and presence.
Celebrated for their carefully crafted, hand-embroidered accessories, Deepa Gurnani offers a line of unique and extraordinary pieces, each hand-beaded and stitched with the magnificent colors of India.
