Mexico is one of the world's fastest-growing markets for the industry. Its buoyant automotive sector accounts for 6% of national gross domestic product (GDP) and 18% of all of Mexico's manufacturing production. Automotive manufacturing is one of the largest users of polyurethane-based products for applications such as seat cushioning, headrests, steering wheels, noise-suppressing carpets and air filters. Many global automotive manufacturers have moved production to the region, making it an excellent prospect for all those involved in the polyurethanes sector.

Polyurethanes are also widely used in construction for insulation, coatings, adhesives and sealants. Recent private investment in Mexico's construction industry has sparked rapid growth and this sector now accounts for 8.1% of GDP, providing a further boost to the PU market in the region.

Often described as the hidden polymer, polyurethanes are widely used in applications as diverse as automotive, construction, aerospace, furniture, bedding, electrical, footwear, textiles, pipes, refrigeration and insulation as well as specialist surgical and medical. The UTECH Las Americas 2017 trade show and conference will offer materials specialists from across all these industries the perfect opportunity to see global advancements in polyurethane technology including all the latest products and machinery.
