KNOXVILLE, Tenn., Nov. 5, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Softing Inc., a leading industrial automation and electronics provider, will showcase their latest cable tester, NetXpert 1400 cable qualifier, at booth 1250 at the 2015 Automation Fair® by Rockwell Automation being held at McCormick Place West in Chicago on November 18-19.

NetXpert 1400 is a Gigabit LAN qualifier and network diagnostic tool designed to quickly test or troubleshoot networks. Many of the tests result in simple pass/fail indications. NetXpert is able to determine whether the existing cable can support Gigabit Ethernet operation compliant with the IEEE 802.3ab standard.
NetXpert can quickly and accurately diagnose opens, shorts, mis-wires, and split pairs via a full-color wire map.
Softing's cable certifier, WireXpert®, will also be on display at their booth. "While NetXpert is designed for qualification, WireXpert is designed to be the best certifier available," said Knebusch. "WireXpert certifies Cat5e/6/6A up to Class FA and CAT8, copper cabling, as well as MPO, SM, MM, and MMEF fiber optic cabling. It's really a lab grade instrument packaged for portable use."
Softing will host tech session T33, Ethernet Cable Certification, each day at Automation Fair® from 2-3 p.m. in room W184BC. Technology trends and specific standards driving the need for certification and qualification will be explained. The capabilities of WireXpert and NetXpert will be covered as they relate to the testing of cabling systems.
The other main area of Softing's booth will feature their Enterprise Application Transaction Modules (eATM®): tManager® for end-to-end data exchange between ControlLogix and databases, and the OPC UA Server module that enables a ControlLogix to be an OPC UA server.
