Apex-Brasil Sponsors 12 Brazilian Health-Centric Companies at This Year's Natural Products Expo West Conference
Brazilian companies will showcase their food and nonfood product offerings to an audience of nearly 60,000 global industry professionals

ANAHEIM, Calif., March 8, 2022 /PRNewswire/ -- As part of Natural Products Expo West 2022 – which is returning for the first time in person since pre-pandemic 2020 – Apex-Brasil, the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency, will bring 12 Brazil-based companies to showcase their unique natural home, beauty, and food products at the Brazilian Pavilion at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, California (Booth #1747). Each year, Expo West, which is considered the leading trade show in the natural, organic, and healthy products industry, brings together industry executives, buyers, and other professionals, from large multinational retailers and small independent stores alike, to experience new products and trends firsthand.

Data from Organis, the Association for the Promotion of Organics and partner to Apex-Brasil, shows that 46% of consumers would like to find more organic, natural, and healthy products at their favorite stores and supermarkets. What's more, the Organic Trade Association (OTA) found that the organic food and nonfood product sales in the U.S. reached a record high in 2020, totaling $61.9 billion, which was the first time the market surpassed the $60 billion mark, and early estimates for 2021 indicate sales remained strong last year.

Due to a range of factors identified in a ResearchAndMarkets.com report, including but not limited to product innovations, the ever-increasing availability of organic products on e-commerce platforms, and the growing number of people interested in leading healthier lifestyles as evidenced by the aforementioned Organis data, the Brazil organic food market is projected to reach $4.4 billion by 2025, with an annual compound growth rate of more than 20% until 2025. Additionally, as the most biologically diverse country in the world, with nearly 43,020 plant species that are currently known and many new species discovered each year, Brazil has put a focus on health offerings derived from native plants and vegetation, making them completely unique and natural.

Through Saturday, March 12, the following Brazilian companies will have a presence at the Brazilian Pavilion during Expo West, with many offering free product samples:

  • Acre Nuts specializes in Brazilian nuts grown in the heart of the Amazon rainforest. In addition to high calorie and protein content, Acre Nuts' products provide the full daily recommended level of magnesium and high concentrations of vitamin B, vitamin E, zinc, and fiber.
  • Café 3Corações is one of Grupo 3Corações' flagship coffee brands and the largest coffee distributor in Brazil, controlling 26.5% of the consumer coffee market and directly employing more than 7,000 individuals.
  • Jalles Machado exports a wide range of products including industrial and hydrated ethanol, conventional and organic sugar, yeast, hygiene and cleaning products, electricity, and latex. One of their flagship food products is Açúcar Cristal Itajá, a white crystallized sugar sold in Brazil and exported around the world in commercial quantities.
  • Litholife focuses on products containing lithothamnion algae, an organic compound with health benefits. Litholife provides its products to domestic and external markets, which are safe for use in food, cosmetic and pharmaceutical production, and pet products.
  • Britvic ebba provides raw materials of tropical, conventional, and organic fruits – such as pulps in different levels of concentration – for the international industrial market. Ebba (or Empresa Brasileira de Bebidas e Alimentos SA) was acquired by Britvic – one of the largest non-alcoholic beverage companies in the world – in 2015.
  • Petruz Fruit leverages the health benefits of açaí to produce a wide range of products, including organic açaí pastes, açaí ice cream and energy-boosting açaí powder. In addition to its retail offerings, Petruz offers açaí paste and powder in wholesale quantities for industrial customers.
  • Triunfo Yerba Mate has the largest organic yerba mate, a Brazilian herbal tea, crop in Brazil. In addition to fresh and roasted yerba mate for wholesale and consumer sale, Triunfo offers powder and liquid yerba mate extract for food, beverage, cosmetic, and medicinal production.
  • Qualitá Brasil creates high-quality mate and tea products. Qualitá Brasil uses an innovative agroforestry system to manage native herbs throughout all steps of an automated, low carbon and smokeless production system. Qualitá Brasil is certified organic by the USDA.
  • Usina Monte Alegre is a pioneer in Brazil's sugar manufacturing sector, leading the way in anti-sulfur sugar production to improve product safety and comply with international health regulations. Usina Monte Alegre operates in the retail market under the brand Açúcar Alegre.
  • Sylvestre Natural Ingredients develops, produces, and markets natural ingredients and solutions in a sustainable way for the food and beverage, nutrition and health and pet food sectors, with Brazilian ingredients like teas and spices, superfruits, botanical extracts, oils, milks, and more.
  • Raízes do Campo is a health food company with products including but not limited to specialty chocolates, fruit juices, rice, and more.
  • Horta da Terra makes healthy, natural products from plants found only in the Brazilian Amazon. The products are freeze-dried and powdered, while still retaining the unique functional, medicinal and nutritional properties, and can be used in a variety of recipes for food and drinks, creative and innovative cuisine, including supplements and functional food.

The Brazilian companies attending Expo West 2022 represent some of the healthiest native products the country has to offer, with a specific focus on food and beverage.
