PHOENIX, Jan. 8, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- The Association of Energy Services Professionals (AESP) 29th Annual Conference is just a few weeks away: January 21-24, 2019, in San Antonio, Texas.
This year, AESP is demonstrating its commitment to carbon neutrality with the creation of the Zero Carbon Offset Sponsor, and is pleased to announce that global consulting and digital services provider ICF has gladly stepped up to the plate.
With this sponsorship, AESP will contract with Carbonfund.org to calculate the carbon offset amount for the conference by purchasing and retiring carbon credits on behalf of AESP and ICF. Carbonfund.org offset projects meet the toughest industry standards and are third-party verified to ensure the highest quality.
"ICF is the perfect sponsor for our first-ever carbon neutral conference," said John Hargrove, president and CEO for AESP. "Through its work and corporate citizenship, ICF has clearly demonstrated its long-term commitment to carbon neutrality. I'm so pleased they've agreed to help us reach our zero-carbon footprint goal."
ICF was the first professional services firm in the world to go carbon neutral in 2006, and has maintained a net-zero carbon footprint ever since. And through its efforts to both reduce energy use and buy renewable energy, emissions from ICF's facilities have decreased even while its employee population has grown.
"We are truly honored to have been approached by AESP for this sponsorship opportunity," said Mike Mernick, senior vice president for ICF. "Both of our organizations are committed to sustainability and to actions that will move us closer to a clean energy future."
