BOSTON, Oct. 31, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- After several years of lack of leadership in the field of competitive intelligence, the FGH Academy of Competitive Intelligence has taken the lead with a new wave of corporate deployment of market/strategic intelligence activities using a new model for Competitive Intelligence capability developed by Dr. Benjamin Gilad.
On October 21, 2018 at the Society of Insurance Researcher's annual conference, Dr. Gilad presented the new model to a crowd of 200 practitioners. This revolutionary approach turns the existing model on its head, and centers corporate capabilities on a structured dialogue between market analysts and senior management.
The new model became the talk of the day at the conference where practitioners were excited to return to their financial institutions and start implementing it. The new upswing in Competitive Intelligence activity is reflected in the multitude of events featuring the official CIP™ certification (Competitive Intelligence Professional) as a cornerstone of education in Competitive/Market Intelligence. A new forum, Competitive Marketing Summit, endorsed the CIP™ as it official training.
Next week, The Legal Marketing Association will be presenting a joint certificate with FGH Academy of Competitive Intelligence in New York City for marketing professionals in the legal space. At the end of November, a newcomer to the field, CiMi.Con – a European event organizer, will feature Gilad's workshop on how to design and implement the new CI model.
Our senior faculty, Prof. Helen Rothberg, a leading advocate of women in business and leadership and a celebrated author of The Perfect Mix (Simon and Schuster, 2018), brings a special message for women in CI: "It's our time to stand up and lead-because we can!" With our upcoming program November 12-16 in Chicago, we hope to see many more women training as analysts.
After years of muddling through with lackluster performance of an information-centric approach to intelligence, the field is on a comeback!
