VERO BEACH, Fla., Oct. 30, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- QOL Medical LLC today announced it will introduce its unique disease-awareness, marketing tool to the attendees of the 2017 FABlogCon Conference, held November 3rd through 5th in Denver, Colorado. FABlogCon is the blogger and consumer advocacy conference for those managing food allergies, food intolerances, and gastrointestinal (GI) diseases.

QOL Medical, LLC, Disease Awareness, Toilet Seat Wrap (2017)

QOL's Sit n' Search Sucrose Intolerance Learning Series starts at the toilet, a spot frequently visited by those living with GSID (Genetic Sucrase-Isomaltase Deficiency), informally known as sucrose intolerance, and by those with a variety of gut-health conditions. So what better place for digestive disease-state education than on a toilet seat to attract everyone's uninterrupted attention?

"Our team designed disease-state, conference-branded, biodegradable toilet seat wraps to place in the hotel rooms of all of the attendees," said QOL's Vice President of Marketing, Anthony D'Elia. "It's proven that an increase in patient education helps improve patient outcomes, so it's critical that we continue to develop consumer-friendly resources to raise awareness of rare GI diseases like GSID."

About GSID

GSID, also known as Congenital Sucrase-Isomaltase Deficiency, is a rare disorder that affects a person's ability to digest certain sugars due to absent or low levels of two digestive enzymes, sucrase and isomaltase. Sucrase and isomaltase are involved in the digestion of sugar and starch. Sucrase, an enzyme produced in the small intestine, aids in breaking down sucrose (table sugar) into glucose and fructose, which are used by the body as fuel. Isomaltase is one of several enzymes that helps digest starches. Failure to absorb dietary sucrose and starch may impact the absorption of other nutrients and the hormonal regulation of gastrointestinal function. Patients with GSID are at risk for chronic malnutrition; indeed, failure to thrive is one of the characteristics of the disease state. In addition to diarrhea, some patients suffer from gassiness, abdominal distention, and pain. Learn more at www.sucroseintolerance.com.
