Tom Mohler Emphasizes Future of Content Distribution at the Hispanic TV Summit

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla., Oct. 23, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Olympusat, Inc., one of the largest independent media companies specializing in the ownership, distribution, production and technical services of Spanish and English-language networks, was in attendance at the Hispanic TV Summit in New York City, where Tom Mohler, Founder and CEO of Olympusat Holdings, spoke about the new trends and the future of content distribution.

During a panel discussion among industry insiders, Mr. Mohler focused on the impact of OTT platforms in today's distribution environment, and how the high demand for multicultural content is shaking the foundation of the industry. "There is still plenty of substantial growth in traditional distribution, partly thanks to the increase of Spanish-language channels that are now available in HD. However, the new digital and OTT platforms offer tremendous opportunities," stated the Olympusat Executive. "Through OTT, content distributors and cable operators can offer HD programming without any bandwidth constrictions and overcome any VOD and pricing issues. Consumers, on the other hand, enjoy the advantages of having access to their favorite shows without any conditional buy-throughs."

Mr. Mohler also delved on how Olympusat is facing the industry need for new scripted and local content, not only by producing its own original programming, but also by reaching content providers and distributors from around the world through OlyHub, the company's new online marketplace designed to create new revenue streams by offering an easy way to sell and acquire TV content.

"Competition is great and will continue to increase next year. Audiences want good entertainment, whether its local or international, which is why we have put a lot of effort not only into expanding our dubbing capabilities at our Mexico office, but also into finding new ways to offer, distribute and acquire content," added Mr. Mohler.
