DOWNERS GROVE, Ill., April 4, 2016 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Senior researchers from CompTIA, the technology industry association, will share their latest insights on the cloud computing market at this month's Ingram Micro Cloud Summit 2016, one of largest cloud events for the global information technology (IT) channel.

Carolyn April, senior director for industry analysis, and Seth Robinson, senior director for technology analysis, are scheduled to speak at the summit in Scottsdale, Ariz.

April will deliver a keynote speech on Monday, April 11 at 2:30 PDT at Ingram Micro's Cloud University, a precursor to the Cloud Summit.

"Cloud Computing and the Channel: From Fear to Opportunity" will explore how the cloud and its various incarnations are enabling savvy channel firms to capitalize in new ways across their business lines and customers segments. April will provide a recap of where the channel has been with cloud and where the best opportunities lie for the future.

Robinson's session, "Solving for Cloud," will focus on why businesses increasingly need to become more digital to compete in today's environment; and why cloud solutions are poised to be part of that digital equation. Solution providers will learn about strategies to directly offer cloud components or to use those components to build out their own service portfolio.

Robinson will present "Solving for Cloud" twice during Cloud Summit 2016: at 2 p.m. PDT on Tuesday, April 12 and at 3 p.m. PDT on Wednesday, April 13.

Cloud is the New Electricity

In its IT Industry Outlook 2016, CompTIA's research team opined that in time, cloud-based technology solutions will be as accessible and common as electricity or internet access; "so prevalent that it becomes a standard part of any planning."

"The fear of cloud computing has diminished greatly," the report continued. "Flexibility, maintenance,  and – surprisingly – security are all reasons that companies utilize cloud components, and widespread adoption will soon drive cloud systems to simply be the systems of record."
