NEW YORK, March 3, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Executives of electric companies from across California and the United States will convene in San Francisco on April 6 for Penton's "The California Renewables Rush." The California Renewables Rush will feature analysis of those efforts by J. Andrew Murphy, senior vice president of strategic planning at Edison International, and Arlen Orchard, general manager and CEO of Sacramento Municipal Utility District.

The national implications of California's policies will be explored by Constance Lau, president and CEO of Hawaiian Electric Industries, and Michael O'Sullivan, senior vice president of development at NextEra Energy Resources.

David Owens, executive vice president of business operations and regulatory affairs at Edison Electric Institute, said, "This conference will pull together many of the leading figures in the state of California and from across the nation working on renewables and the electricity business transformation for one day of deep dialogue."

"The financial, regulatory, policy, infrastructure and technological implications of widespread renewable integration need to be – and will be – carefully discussed by the panel of experts and leaders assembled by The Energy Times," Owens said.

Danny Kennedy, co-founder and strategic advisor of Sungevity and author of "Rooftop Revolution" will reflect on the journey that is taking our economy away from fossil-fuels toward renewables and what it means for those working in this business sector.

To close the conference, Jeff Chamberlain, director of the Argonne National Collaborative Center for Energy Storage Science, Martha Symko-Davies, director of partnerships at National Renewable Energy Laboratory, and Haresh Kamath, program manager for energy storage at Electric Power Research Institute, will discuss the future outlook of this shift in the industry and where the energy business is headed.

EEI, Edison International and Pacific Gas & Electric are sponsoring the conference, along with Oracle and Burns & McDonnell.
