In its announcement naming the HDT Fleet Innovators for 2016, Heavy Duty Trucking cited V3's innovative approach to driver recruitment and retention. This strategy helped V3 CEO Bob Poulos and Mr. Sliter in successfully launching the company in 2013 and propelling V3 to now rank among the fastest-growing operations in the expedited market. The magazine further noted Mr. Sliter and V3 had identified approaches to assist drivers being under-served in the expedited market. V3 took steps to establish programs to treat drivers as importantly as customers because, as Mr. Sliter explained, "drivers drive revenue." The highly collaborative and transparent recruiting experience developed by V3 was another key point highlighted by the magazine.

"I am both honored and humbled to accept the HDT Fleet Innovators award on behalf of our entire team at V3. I am quite appreciative of the opportunity to be nominated, and I am very grateful to the editors at Heavy Duty Trucking for the decision to include V3 among its list of leading innovators. This kind of recognition is a tribute to our talented professionals and to our customers. This award would not be possible without the continual support of our operations, sales, recruiting and safety departments as well as everyone connected with V3," said Mr. Sliter. "We've taken the approach to create a recruiting experience and a working environment that involves our owner-operators and fleet owners on the front end. We strive to collaborate with them as part of the process of developing the comprehensive solutions we offer. As a team, we focus every day on how we can best serve our customers and all the people within our V3 family."

"Everyone associated with V3 is thrilled to see John and our company being acknowledged by Heavy Duty Trucking as one of the leading innovators in our industry. I believe the dedication that John and our team demonstrate each day in finding the best answers for our fleets and for our customers is unmatched in today's marketplace." said Mr. Poulos. "On behalf of everyone at V3, I want to congratulate John and the other members of the HDT Fleet Innovator class of 2016. Great ideas continue to drive positive change in our industry, and John is in stellar company with those being honored as HDT Fleet Innovators by Heavy Duty Trucking this year."

Launched by the magazine in 2006, the HDT Fleet Innovators program provides the opportunity for the publication's editors to place a spotlight on a select group of trucking executives who, according to the magazine, have consistently shown innovation in areas such as leadership, productivity, business practices, safety, maintenance, technology, human resources, fuel efficiency, the environment and other key areas of concern for the industry.

According to the magazine's news release on the award, Mr. Sliter and the three other 2016 HDT Fleet Innovator honorees will be profiled in the March issue of Heavy Duty Trucking. On March 30th, Mr. Sliter and this year's HDT Fleet Innovator class will be honored in Louisville during the Mid-America Trucking Show's Fleet Forum. This VIP event will be held the day prior to the official opening of the world's largest truck show. Mr. Sliter will join his fellow HDT Fleet Innovator recipients at the Fleet Forum in a panel discussion covering a range of topics including using younger drivers to address the driver shortage, aggressively pursuing higher fuel economy, crunching data to maximize uptime and shop efficiency, and treating drivers as importantly as customers.
