Marvin® Windows and Doors Now Accepting Entries for Architects Challenge Design Awards
This year's juried winners will be announced at the 2016 AIA Convention, and they'll receive an expenses-paid trip to the show

WARROAD, Minn., Feb. 17, 2016 /PRNewswire/ --  Marvin Windows and Doors is now accepting submissions for its annual Architects Challenge design competition – and the company has added all-new prizes for this year's winning architects.

The Healdsburg Residence in Sonoma County, Calif. was named the Best In Show in the 2015 Marvin Architects Challenge.

Marvin's Architects Challenge, now in its eighth year, honors projects that represent the best in architectural design and use Marvin windows and doors. The annual competition is judged by an esteemed panel of architects, and architects are invited to submit both residential and commercial projects.

This year, Marvin is offering new prizes to the juried winners in each of five categories – Contemporary, Transitional/Eclectic, Traditional New Construction, Remodel/Addition and Commercial – as well as the overall Best in Show. For the first time ever, the six juried winners will be announced during an ARCHITECT Live event at the AIA Convention. Winners will receive free travel, lodging and registration for the conference, which is held May 19-21 in Philadelphia.

"Each year, we're amazed by the exceptional projects that are submitted to the Architects Challenge, and this year, we're excited to up the ante with greater national recognition and new prizes for the winners," said Christine Marvin, Director of Marketing at Marvin. "The Architects Challenge represents the best in architectural design and demonstrates how architects leverage the design flexibility offered by Marvin's expansive product and service offerings."

In addition to the trip to the AIA Convention, the six juried winners of the Architects Challenge will receive a VIP trip to Minneapolis and Marvin's headquarters in Warroad, Minn., including AIA-CES credits. The project named Best in Show will also receive an advertorial in Architectural Digest magazine, as well their project featured in two videos created by Architectural Digest.

As in previous years, the public will also have a chance to help choose one winner in the Architects Challenge Showdown. Every Architects Challenge entry will be included in the Showdown, where the public will have the chance to vote for their favorite project. The Showdown winner will receive an expenses-paid trip to the Greenbuild International Conference and Expo in Los Angeles, Calif.

The Architects Challenge will close for submission on April 1, 2016. Juried winners will be announced at the 2016 AIA Convention on May 19, and winning projects can be seen on www.MarvinWindows.com starting May 20. The Showdown runs June 6 to July 1, with the winner being announced July 11.
