Members of the media who are interested in seeing this groundbreaking new election technology are also invited to visit during this session where members of the company's senior leadership and technology teams will be available to demonstrate the company's voting solutions and answer questions.

Clear Ballot launched the ClearCast precinct voting unit at an event in Boston last month in an effort to bring the company's innovative technology solutions to precinct voting. ClearCast incorporates the use of Intel Corporation's Intel® NUC, an off-the-shelf mini PC kit for advanced processing speed and capabilities.

"We're looking forward to providing the election industry and voters with the best scanning technology, industry-leading discernment of voter intent, and the fastest in-person voted ballot processing speed in the industry," said Edwin B. Smith, Vice President, Products for Clear Ballot.

ClearCast offers election officials an alternative to proprietary voting equipment that can quickly become obsolete. ClearCast is comprised entirely of commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) components that ensure continuous innovation and a solution that's easy to use for election administrators. The ClearCast voting unit allows ballots to be cast and processed quickly via the Intel NUC mini PC. Ballots are then securely deposited into a durable ballot box that is both detachable and collapsible. The low profile design is easy to use for both transportation and storage making it the most sustainable option for all precincts.

Working with the Intel NUC and other COTS components allows the ClearCast precinct voting unit to provide built-in security and a computing platform that is smaller, lower-cost and higher-performance than voting units architected from proprietary components.

The microprocessor in the Intel NUC used in ClearCast is the most powerful microprocessor in any voting unit used inside a polling place.  It also carries extremely powerful security features while maintaining exceptional usability for voters, pollworkers and election administrators.

"Intel's well respected name and track record in the development of superior performing processing technology combined with Clear Ballot's innovative voting solutions and elections expertise provide the most transparent process for reporting election results which translates to a much improved experience for the voter, pollworker and election official," said Smith. "We hope that members of the election community will stop by our open house on Thursday evening and take an in-depth look at our new ClearCast unit and all of the components of our ClearVote solution suite."

Clear Ballot election technology is currently used in Oregon and Florida and recently received New York State certification. The company has also conducted successful pilots in New York, Colorado, Vermont and California.
