Smart Metals Recycling Re-Brands as SMR Worldwide

STATESVILLE, N.C., April 18, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- In an internal memo last week, Smart Metals Recycling CEO Shelly Li announced, effective immediately, the four-year-old company's re-branding into SMR Worldwide. Originally formed in late 2014 out of a Duke University dorm room by co-founders Shelly Li and Arun Karottu, SMR attributes success to its unique vision: transforming yesterday's technology into the supply chain of tomorrow.  Combined with an unwavering dedication to its values, SMR Worldwide plans to continue consolidating all aspects of the forward and reverse supply chain for enterprise hardware around the globe.

"The company has grown from an ambitious startup venture to a disruptive company for ITAD and electronics recycling," said Li. "In a world of mounting waste, one-time-use products, and absence of empathy for the environment, we are promoting security, efficiency, and transparency. To build a company that does this in the face of this adversity is no small task. As such, we are laser-focused every day in delivering the best experience to our customers, building new software products, onboarding new recycling programs, and constructing new facilities to widen our influence.

"The next phase of our growth, while we continue to expand our strong recycling capabilities, will take us on a journey to drive a more powerful version of our mission. In fact, we will be offering solutions we have never offered before to our customers. In addition to reselling working devices and recycling non-working electronics, we'll be enabling the redeployment of select products back to our customers' own hands, so that they can maximize its use before exploring remarketing and recycling avenues. As such, we are rebranding, assuming the name SMR Worldwide. SMR, as homage to our history. Worldwide, to communicate our aspiration to be a company of global influence, promoting security, efficiency, and transparency to all enterprises in every corner of the world."

SMR Worldwide is pleased to announce our exhibition at the IAITAM Spring ACE in San Diego, CA, May 22-24, 2019. Located in booth 22 by the north entrance, the SMR team is positioning themselves for a successful conference.
