LOS ANGELES, Feb. 7, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- On Saturday, March 9, the New Center for Psychoanalysis (NCP) presents the John S. Peck Distinguished Lecture Series, "The Happiness Puzzle: Science, Psychoanalysis & the Creative Arts," a day-long conference with panels, talks, and book signings followed by a closing reception. This multidisciplinary deep dive into happiness is discussed in the context of scientific research, psychoanalytic thought, and the creative arts. Noted guests from around the country will share why happiness is important for life fulfillment and how to find it. The presentations are designed to deepen our understanding of the relationship between happiness and resiliency, depression, gratitude, and personal expression.

Tracy K. Smith, MFA – U.S. Poet Laureate and Pulitzer Prize-winning author of the critically acclaimed memoir Ordinary Light and four books of poetry. Ms. Smith is also Chair of the University's Lewis Center for the Arts, Director of the Creative Writing Program, and the Roger S. Berlind Professor in Humanities at Princeton University.
Glen Gabbard, MD – Global expert clinician, leader in Psychoanalytic education and Clinical Professor of Psychiatry at Baylor College of Medicine of Houston, Dr. Gabbard is the author/editor of 28 books; many have been translated into 11 languages.
Sonja Lyubomirsky, Ph.D. – Researcher, scientist, Professor and Vice Chair of Psychology at UC Riverside. Dr. Lyubomirsky is the author of The How of Happiness: A Scientific Approach to Getting the Life You Want and the Myths of Happiness.
