New Jersey Association of Osteopathic Physicians and Surgeons (NJAOPS) to host the 118th Annual Atlantic Region Osteopathic Convention in April 2019

ATLANTIC CITY, N.J., Jan. 11, 2019 /PRNewswire/ --  The New Jersey Association of Osteopathic Physicians and Surgeons (NJAOPS) will host the 118th Atlantic Region Osteopathic Convention (AROC 2019) from Wednesday, April 10 through Saturday, April 15. AROC is the region's largest physician conference and expo, and has built a reputation as a leading medical conference since 1901. For the second consecutive year, the conference will take place at the Golden Nugget in Atlantic City, NJ.

AROC will feature continuing medical education, including interactive workshops, traditional lectures, and engaging presentations. In addition, AROC also features an Exposition Hall hosting over 80 medical and business related exhibitors.

As with tradition, hands-on training in Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine (OMM) will be provided for physicians. In addition, attendees will participate workshop-formatted sessions providing instruction in wound care, joint injections, ultrasound, guided imagery, prolotherapy and suturing skills. Featured presentations include Hot Topics in Family Medicine, where attendees gain insight into the challenges faced by family physicians that encounter a wide array of diseases and conditions where there are significant practice gaps or rapidly evolving changes in treatment and guidelines.

The Keynote address, presented by Petros Levounis, MD, MA, of Rutgers New Jersey Medical School, will be entitled The Neurobiology of Addiction. Other noteworthy presentations include, What's Happening in Behavioral Health?, presented by Domenick J. Sportelli, DO, of the New Jersey Center for Advanced Psychiatry and Behavioral Health, as well as a panel of New Jersey Legislators to discuss government affairs and legislation that affect health care practice in the State of New Jersey.
