SANS New Orleans Training Event will Feature 30 Hands-On Immersion Style Cyber Security Courses
Multiple NetWars Challenge Opportunities Offered

BETHESDA, Md., Dec. 12, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- SANS Institute, the global leader in cyber security training, today announced the agenda for SANS Security East 2019 (#SANSSecEast) taking place February 2-9 in New Orleans, Louisiana. The event features 30 hands-on immersion style training courses for security professionals at every level. Included among the course offering is the SANS SEC511: Continuous Monitoring and Security Operations. Ideal for seasoned security professionals, this course provides tips and techniques to detect and stop adversaries once they enter an environment.

According to SANS Certified Instructor Bryan Simon (@BryanOnSecurity), "There has never been a larger need for timely detection and response. Initial prevention capabilities will fail and adversaries are more emboldened than ever. However, we can fight and win. We have more ability than ever before to aid in a very quick detection of adversary activity in our environment. SEC511: Continuous Monitoring and Security Operations is a real-world course with highly actionable activities that allow defenders to detect the adversary before they succeed in the achievement of their end-goals, and after they have entered our environment. While it might only take one vulnerability for the adversary to break-in, it only takes one detection to defeat them."

SANS Security East 2019 features courses covering a variety of topics including cyber defense, ethical hacking, penetration testing, cloud security, digital forensics, security management, secure DevOps and more. Those new to security will benefit from the SEC401: Security Essentials Bootcamp Style course. More seasoned professionals will benefit from courses like SEC575: Mobile Device Security and Ethical Hacking, FOR610: Reverse-Engineering Malware: Malware Analysis Tools and Techniques, MGT512: Security Leadership Essentials for Managers and ICS410: ICS/SCADA Security Essentials.

In addition to SANS classroom training, attendees of SANS Security East 2019 can test their security skills at the Core NetWars Experience, DFIR NetWars Tournament, and the Cyber Defense NetWars Tournament.
