SANS Announces the Agenda for 2019 Miami Cyber Security Training Event
Features Cyber Security Courses for Security Professionals at Every Level

BETHESDA, Md., Nov. 8, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- SANS Institute, the global leader in cyber security training, today announced the agenda for SANS Miami 2019 (#SANSMiami) taking place January 21-26 in Florida. Courses will cover a variety of topics including cyber defense, ethical hacking, digital forensics, security management and ICS security. Bonus evening talks including, a keynote address by Florida-based cyber security expert James Tarala (@isaudit), will round out the agenda. Tarala will detail how to practically use cyber security metrics to communicate risk levels to business owners and leadership.

According to Tarala, "Leadership is looking for confidence in their teams that they are pursuing the right defenses to keep organizations safe. Metrics allow organizations to communicate the status of those controls and identify where weaknesses might exist. However, for security professionals to have confidence in the metrics they are providing they must understand an architecture for selecting measures and metrics that are useful. My talk will help attendees focus their efforts on measures that make a difference. And yes, all attendees will leave with a free library of measures and metrics that they can bring back to their organization and implement the day they get back to their offices."

In addition to his evening talk, Tarala will also teach the SEC566: Implementing and Auditing the Critical Security Controls In-Depth course. This course was designed to help security professionals master specific, proven techniques and tools needed to implement and audit the Critical Security Controls as documented by the Center for Internet Security (CIS).

SANS Miami 2019 offers security professionals the unique opportunity to learn directly from some of the world's top cyber security practitioners.
