MINNEAPOLIS, Sept. 17, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Transition Networks, Inc., a leading provider of edge connectivity solutions, today announced it will showcase its Self-Enclosed, Managed Hardened Gigabit Ethernet Power-over-Ethernet ++ (PoE++) Switch at the Global Security Exchange (GSX) event.

GSX, formerly known as the ASIS Annual Seminar and Exhibits, will be held Sept. 23-27, 2018 at the Las Vegas Convention Center in Las Vegas, Nevada. GSX is the security industry's flagship event, expected to attract 550 exhibitors and more than 20,000 operational and cyber security professionals. Transition Networks will exhibit in the Central Hall - GSX Exhibit Hall - booth 3120.

In its booth, Transition Networks will showcase its Self-Enclosed, Hardened PoE++ Gigabit Ethernet Switch, along with many other PoE, PoE+ and PoE++ products from its growing portfolio for the security industry. The 4+1 port IEEE 802.3bt (draft) compliant switch (SESPM1040-541-LT-xx Series) features wireless capabilities for simplified installation and extension of security and surveillance networks. The switch is optimized for easy set-up and maintenance of outdoor security camera networks through the inclusion of a Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) radio for remote access to the switch and near-field communication (NFC) for mass pre-configuration of switches prior to powering up or connecting the switches.

Additionally, a built-in wireless Ethernet extension port enables point-to-point wireless connection between switches in locations where cable runs are not practical. The switch is self-enclosed in an outdoor NEMA 4X/IP-66 rated enclosure and consists of all the power and data connectivity components included in one accessible, compact, and protected enclosure for use in harsh environments.

The switch was recently awarded the 2018 New Product of the Year in the Network Support Solutions category by Security Today magazine. The trophy will be awarded to Transition Networks at GSX and on display at their booth (3120). The Security Today New Product of the Year Award honors the outstanding product development achievements of security equipment manufacturers whose products are considered to be particularly noteworthy in their ability to improve security.

"This award is a result of our commitment to set the standard for innovation in support of the security network evolution. Our new Self-Enclosed, Hardened PoE++ Switch is a powerful solution for the growing security industry, not only delivering power and data to security cameras and other end devices, but enabling easy installation and troubleshooting through unique wireless capabilities," said GlenNiece Kutsch, Product Manager at Transition Networks. "The ASIS conference has been a critical venue for engaging with the security network community, learning about their pain points, and sharing information to help solve problems, and we look forward to participating in the newly rebranded GSX event again next week."
