Top Labor Attorney Jack Schaedel To Speak at California Employment Law Forum

LOS ANGELES, July 5, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Scali Rasmussen labor and employment Partner Jack Schaedel will address #MeToo related issues, such as sexual harassment, at an upcoming employment law seminar hosted by California Lawyer, the premier legal source for news and events in Southern California.

"California employers must be vigilant in how they communicate to their workforce, focusing on how messages will be perceived by employees," says Schaedel, who has more than 20 years of experience representing employers throughout California.

"Regardless of whether anyone in your workplace is wearing a pin, you may have a future 'silence breaker' on your team," Schaedel added. "How do you break the silence safely?"

Schaedel is among the speakers at the California Lawyer's Employment Law Forum on July 18 at the Millennium Biltmore in downtown Los Angeles. The full-day conference will showcase the leading practitioners in the expanding field of employment law. The President of California Advocates, Inc. will deliver the keynote address concerning current legislative issues on employment.

In addition to his litigation and trial experience, Schaedel guides clients through the finer points of discrimination and harassment law, wage and hour regulations, family and medical leave, handbook development and enforcement and other issues that may face a client. He frequently speaks to employer groups and bar associations on wage-hour law and other employment-related topics. In 2012, he founded the Employment Law section of the Pasadena Bar Association.

Schaedel has defended clients facing multi-million dollar wage claims and other high-stakes employment litigation. A large part of his practice focuses on helping clients develop systems to prevent, address and resolve issues before they advance to litigation. Schaedel's experience in traditional labor law involves representation campaigns and elections, collective bargaining negotiations, unfair labor practice arbitrations and day-to-day CBA administration.
