'AgTech Conference of the South' Coming to Alpharetta, Ga. July 2018
Inaugural Event Hosted by Tech Alpharetta in Partnership with the City of Alpharetta; Will Showcase Region's Impact on the Future of Ag

ALPHARETTA, Ga., Dec. 11, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Tech Alpharetta, with the support of the city of Alpharetta, announces the AgTech Conference of the South taking place July 23 through July 25, 2018 at the Alpharetta Conference Center. The inaugural event is the state's first forum dedicated to the investment, entrepreneurship and innovation that is shaping the future of agriculture.

The three-day conference will feature key thought leaders and investors, as well as current and emerging agtech business leaders who are creating more value, variety and predictability in the world's food and fiber supply. Panel discussions and break-out sessions will cover a variety of topics, including supply chain, big data, biotech, innovation and plant genetics.

"Before becoming the Tech City of the South, the city of Alpharetta was a small agriculture community. Fast forward to today, as the home of more than 640 technology companies, it is a leader in growing technology businesses and innovation in the state," says Karen Cashion, CEO of Tech Alpharetta. "The AgTech Conference of the South will address the explosive growth in agtech that has resulted from the intersection of agriculture and technology, in an engaging, thought-provoking format that will be a must-attend for industry leaders and investors throughout the region."

To showcase future innovators and disruptors in agriculture, the conference will also host an AgTech Startup Pitch-off. Agtech entrepreneurs will present to a panel of industry representatives who are seeking potential partnerships with outside innovators.

"The AgTech Conference is an incredible opportunity to accelerate the growth of agtech across the state and region, and to help forge new relationships among stakeholders who span the farm-to-fork value chain," shares David Belle Isle, Mayor of Alpharetta. "We're thrilled to partner with Tech Alpharetta to bring this event to our community, while introducing conference attendees to our great city."
