DATATRAK Set to Disrupt the eClinical Landscape with Enterprise Cloud Concept

CLEVELAND, June 19, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- As the needs of Life Science and Clinical Research industries change, DATATRAK has unveiled their plan to deliver a comprehensive enterprise cloud offering, which deliver pharmaceutical, biotech and CRO organizations top-of-class operational efficiencies from Cloud-based computing. This will empower Workgroup teams with role-based access to version-controlled file management, calendar events, tasks and contacts, along with eClinical applications including EDC and CTMS with reporting, data analytics, and business intelligence across the Enterprise.

DATATRAK believes the need for operational efficiencies is a direct result of the limitations within today's technology offerings. These limitations would require the intermediate adoption of redundant systems as a transitional backstop to a Sponsor's strategic planning as they await similar operational efficiency relief found in other industries.

"Our approach has been simple and quiet," says Jim Bob Ward, President and CEO of DATATRAK. "Beginning in 2006, we have been creating Enterprise Cloud accounts and a Workgroup for every EDC and CTMS clinical application. We applied a stepwise approach of validating the User Desktop to Workgroup model with only one-level of Workgroups. The result has been over 57,000 users working from thousands of EDC and CTMS Workgroups."

Moving forward DATATRAK will work with industry subject matter experts to identify the remaining specifications necessary for their client-partner needs.

"Unlike other systems, we didn't start as a single product with the plan to expand into the enterprise; we started out with an enterprise platform and built out key clinical applications," says Tim Lyons, Vice President of Product Development for DATATRAK. "Our vision continues to be that we build and own a multilingual and multi-tenant enterprise platform, with unified access to our clinical applications, database, and workflows to ensure scalability and operational efficiencies."

DATATRAK's clear vision is now focused on the Enterprise Cloud, and the need for innovative long-term solutions that provide scalability with more productivity at lower costs.

"Recent acquisitions and announcements show eClinical technology vendors are scrambling to bring their products up-to-date, and reposition themselves as a SaaS provider," says Scott DeMell, Vice President of Sales for DATATRAK. "However, retrofitting non-clinical platforms to meet regulatory requirements passes on risk and the burden of cost to the clients. Restructuring stand-alone products through backend coding also creates a very rigid system."

Because of the size and depth of the Enterprise solution, there will be staged releases of versions over time to ensure the best possible client outcomes. DATATRAK is currently exhibiting at the DIA Annual Meeting in Chicago, and are encouraging interested parties to visit booth 712.
