Seatrade Cruise Global 2017 To Introduce First Safety & Security Symposium

NEW YORK, Dec. 5, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Seatrade Cruise Global announces a new addition in programming to the 2017 conference line-up 13-16 March 2017 at the Fort Lauderdale Broward County Convention Center.  The new Seatrade Cruise Global Safety & Security Symposium will debut at this year's show serving as a focal point for specialized professionals as well as all conference attendees interested in learning about current and new developments in these critical fields. Beginning Tuesday 14 March, the symposium is a collaboration with Cruise Line International Association (CLIA) and the Florida Caribbean Cruise Association (FCCA), featuring a series of platform presentations and moderated panel discussions exploring a variety of topics.

John Sifling, a 30-year veteran maritime professional will serve as chairperson of the three-day symposium. Currently Principal of Broad Reach Maritime LLC, Sifling is a retired Coast Guard Commander who has served in a variety of assignments including Commanding Officer of Marine Safety Office Juneau and Captain of the Port of Southeast Alaska. After retiring from the Coast Guard, he worked for eight years as Vice President, Fleet Security and Company Security Officer at Princess Cruises.
