NEW YORK, June 29, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Pensions & Investments ("P&I"), the global media brand for institutional investors, hosted the third annual Global Future of Retirement conference that addressed the changes that must be made to retirement systems, investment options and funding strategies to ensure individuals can retire with dignity and security.  More than 200 of the world's largest asset owners and asset managers attended the conference June 12-14 in Washington DC.

Among the keynote speakers were Hamilton "Tony" E. James, President and Chief Operating Officer of Blackstone who shared his vision for a Guaranteed Retirement Account for all Americans that mandates a minimum contribution by both employee and employer.  Thomas R. Harkin, United States Senator (retired) and Senior Advisor, Harkin Institute for Public Policy & Citizen Engagement - Drake University, spoke about the future of retirement, including proposals to make the public and private systems more inclusive and robust.
