Introducing The North American Society for Hair Restoration
North America's top hair restoration surgeons create new medical society with the goal of promoting the highest standards of ethical conduct and responsible patient care.

BLACKHAWK, Calif., June 7, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Stephen J. Ronan, MD FACS, of Danville, CA along with Stephen Mulholland, MD FRCS, of Canada, Grant Stevens, MD FACS, of Marina Del Rey, CA and Richard Chaffoo, MD FACS FICS, of La Jolla, CA are proud to introduce The North American Society for Hair Restoration (NASHR): a medical society with the goal of becoming the leading authority on hair restoration.

Founded by one of the top ten hair restoration surgeons in the country, Dr. Stephen Ronan says he felt the need to form a society that ensures members are properly trained to perform hair restoration procedures and deliver the best patient experience possible.

"Membership is only offered to those whose core specialties are in plastic surgery, facial plastic surgery, and dermatology," said Dr. Ronan. "These core specialties have the proper training for hair transplantation surgery. Over the years it has concerned me that physicians without formal training in the aesthetic industry and without formal training in hair restoration surgery have been performing these procedures. This often results in less than desirable results for the patients suffering from hair loss. NASHR will educate the public regarding the importance of physician training in the core aesthetic fields."

Dr. Ronan says news of NASHR's launch has spread quickly through out the aesthetic industry, and that there has been tremendous interest from North America's leading hair transplantation surgeons in forming this society. NASHR's inaugural event was held at the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery Conference in Las Vegas last April, and the next meeting will be held at the Las Vegas Cosmetic Surgery Conference on June 11th, 2016 from 6-8pm at the Lago inside the Bellagio. More details can be found at HairSurgeons.org.
