Silver is a highly sought-after professional development speaker known for her optimistic and humorous style. She is an award-winning educator with 30 years of experience as a classroom teacher, staff development instructor, and university professor. Silver's numerous recognitions include being named the Louisiana State Teacher of the Year. Her bestselling book, Drumming to the Beat of Different Marchers: Finding the Rhythm for Differentiated Learning, has been recognized for its insights into research-based models, teaching strategies, management tips, and inspirational "from-the-heart" lessons for addressing individual differences.

"My mission is to remind teachers of how important they are in the lives of children, highlighting both learning theory as well as tools for communication," says Silver. "I firmly believe that teachers need to be having fun, and staying in touch with their passion, to make their biggest impact in the classroom."

Also presenting at the event is nationally renowned early childhood expert and TV personality Natalie Daise, who is best known as "Ms. Natalie" on Nick Jr.'s award-winning television program, Gullah Gullah Island. For more than 20 years, Daise has developed and facilitated interactive learning experiences for educators and students that entertain, empower, and inspire. Her belief in the positive power of stories is vividly illustrated through both the performing and visual arts.

In addition to Silver and Daise, I Teach PreK! will also feature award-winning educator, musician, and author/illustrator, Debbie Clement. For more than 20 years, Clement has combined her passion for arts, music, and education in her roles as classroom teacher, administrator, presenter, and concert performer. She has recorded six CDs of original songs for children and created and starred in the award-winning DVD Kweezletown: Let's Work Together. Clement received the Ella Lyman Cabot Award for her excellence in creating music programs for young children with special needs.

I Teach PreK! is the largest pre-kindergarten conference of its kind, and was developed and programmed by a team of experts addressing the latest research and developing trends. Attendees' days will consist of multiple breakout sessions, networking events and opportunities, a lively exhibit hall, and "add-on" events, including a Morning Mindfulness kickoff, an educator Meet & Greet, a bonus Sketch Noting session, afternoon storytelling session with Story Pirates, a camaraderie booth, and innovative take-away tips. New and experienced teachers will master both the basics every classroom educator needs and the groundbreaking ideas that lead to true transformation. Attendees may choose from numerous concurrent sessions, in a wide variety of learning formats—including hands-on, make & takes, and video-based see-it-in-action sessions.

The I Teach PreK! conference is one of eight national conferences that SDE hosts each summer, divided between Las Vegas, Chicago, and Orlando.
