Robert Haas of EnterpriseDB to Present Keynote Address at PGConf US 2016

BROOKLYN, N.Y., April 18, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- EnterpriseDB® (EDB™), the leading enterprise Postgres database company, today announced that Robert Haas, Vice President, Chief Database Architect, will conduct a Keynote address at PGConf US 2016, held April 18-20, 2016, at the New York Marriott at the Brooklyn Bridge in New York.

PGConf US 2016 is the premier gathering in the United States of PostgreSQL experts where thought leaders, end users, and community leaders exchange best practices, new techniques, and technology advances. 

Haas' Keynote presentation, titled EnterpriseDB (EDB) and Open Source, will take place on Tuesday, April 19, at 5 pm (EDT). EDB is one of several companies contributing code, code reviews, testing, and packaging to the PostgreSQL open source community.  During the presentation, Haas will discuss some of EDB's recent contributions to PostgreSQL and to related projects. Haas also will discuss some of the contributions EDB will continue to make over the coming years.

On Wednesday, April 20, at 1 pm (EDT), Haas will conduct a second presentation titled Parallel Query in PostgreSQL. This presentation will provide an overview of the architecture of parallelism in PostgreSQL and examples of queries that will be accelerated by new features expected in PostgreSQL 9.6.

Haas manages both the engineering group at EDB responsible for the EDB Postgres Advanced Server database and critical contributions to the PostgreSQL core code base. He is a Major Contributor and Committer for the PostgreSQL community, and has played a critical role in the development of parallelism for PostgreSQL.
