Judges selected STEM in the Gym from among seven finalists in the category of Best Product to Promote Health and Fitness in the Classroom.

The STEM in the Gym program was designed and created by Cindy Jones, winner of several national awards. The program enables elementary-age students to experience each simple machine while learning about force, load, work, and more. The package includes curriculum and equipment to implement the complete program in the gym. The durable equipment designed to withstand years of use includes wedges, seesaw levers, screw hatches, pulleys, big gears, and wheel-and-axle devices that students use. A STEM in the Gym – Simple Machines book and DVD guide teachers through the setup and implementation of activities.
