ATLANTA, March 7, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Fresh off its worldwide debut in Detroit, the all-new Lexus LC 500 luxury coupe will make its first Southeast appearance at the 2016 Atlanta International Auto Show.

Lexus brings an impressive lineup of vehicles to the Atlanta International Auto Show, held March 9-13 at the Georgia World Congress Center. The luxury automaker will feature the all-new LC 500 luxury coupe (pictured above), the 467-horsepower 2016 GS F performance sedan and the entirely redesigned 2016 RX luxury crossover.

The public is invited to the Georgia World Congress Center March 9-13 for an up-close look at the LC 500, which is part of a dynamic lineup of new Lexus vehicles including the bestselling RX luxury crossover, the 467-horsepower 2016 GS F performance sedan, the turbocharged IS 200t sedan and the upgraded LX 570 luxury utility vehicle.

The LC 500, the new provocative, athletic flagship coupe from Lexus, makes the strongest statement yet about the luxury brand's future product direction. With stunning design and exhilarating performance, the LC 500 helps make Lexus synonymous with global luxury appeal.

"Innovation and style define Atlanta, so the Atlanta International Auto Show is a natural venue to highlight the latest in Lexus luxury and performance," said Jason Cropper, general manager of Alpharetta-based Lexus Southern Area. "We're excited to showcase vehicles that elevate Lexus into a new era of sophistication and dynamic driving."

With the introduction of the original RX in 1998, Lexus created the category of luxury crossover. Now for the 2016 model year, the boldly designed fourth-generation RX is a bold evolution of this hugely influential vehicle. The 2016 RX is engineered for precision, with improved steering feel and response, heightened agility and cutting-edge technologies to help optimize structural integrity and overall rigidity.

This perennial best-selling luxury crossover features improved horsepower and fuel economy, sophisticated safety features and new technology for enhanced convenience. One such feature is the Lexus-first Touch-Free Power Rear Door, which allows users to open the rear hatch by placing a hand near the Lexus emblem. Inside, the five-passenger RX incorporates a lowered rear floor section, providing comfortable seating positions comparable to that of the flagship Lexus LS luxury sedan.

But the country's most popular luxury crossover is only one part of the Lexus lineup in Atlanta this week.  With a rumbling, responsive 5.0-liter V8 engine producing 467 horsepower, the much-anticipated 2016 Lexus GS F is the latest in the Lexus "F" performance line.  The GS F combines a refined four-door package with the speed and agility of a premium sports car. The GS F's engine is mated to a lightning quick eight-speed automatic gearbox with manual-shifting capabilities. Lexus' innovative Torque Vectoring Differential helps drivers find traction and power in corners for expert-level handling.

Also on deck this week: the 2016 Lexus LX 570. Lexus left barely any surface of the flagship luxury sport-utility vehicle untouched in a sweeping upgrade for 2016. With a powerful V8 engine, sophisticated 4WD chassis and seating for eight, the LX 570 is the rare luxury utility vehicle that combines sumptuous luxury with true off-road capability.

Added to the power lineup this week is the first-ever turbocharged Lexus IS sedan. The IS 200t features an exhilarating 241-horsepower turbocharged engine developed in-house by Lexus, a highly rigid chassis with track-tuned suspension and an eight-speed Sport Direct-Shift transmission. The turbo-engine variants of the Lexus IS and GS sedans and RC coupes are new for 2016.

The Lexus lineup will be on hand at the Atlanta International Auto Show, held March 9-13 at the Georgia World Congress Center.

Lexus launched in 1989 with two luxury sedans and a commitment to pursue perfection. Since that time, Lexus has expanded its line-up to meet the needs of global luxury customers. Lexus is now going beyond its reputation for high quality vehicles with the integration of innovative technology, emotional exterior and interior designs, and engaging driving dynamics and performance.  With six models incorporating Lexus Hybrid Drive, Lexus is the luxury hybrid leader. Lexus also offers seven F SPORT models and two F performance models.  In the United States, Lexus vehicles are sold through 236 dealers who are committed to exemplary customer service.
