QuonWarrene Provides Technology Insights to the Financial Advisor Community

ORANGE, Calif., Feb. 1, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- The financial technology consultants at QuonWarrene are on a mission to educate independent advisors and broker/dealers on fintech solutions. Dubbed "fee-only tech consultants" because they are only paid by their clients for the advice and insights they provide (never by the tech companies themselves), the firm has been on the road, on the phone, and on the web with one big rallying cry: productivity and protection.

To support their expanded mission and demand for services, the firm has added a new staff member, Bryan Shigekuni, and plans to add more in the near future. Shigekuni will apply his experience as an insurance agent, mortgage broker, and investment consultant to benefit QuonWarrene clients.

CONSULTING EXPERTISE FOR TD AMERITRADE

QuonWarrene will be featured in the Business Consulting Lounge in the "Ask An Expert" kiosk section at the TD Ameritrade National Conference in Orlando from February 3-6, 2016. The Business Consulting Lounge is TD's "one-stop destination" to help advisors:

  • Explore leading practice management topics
  • Learn how to maximize technology
  • Examine opportunities in the retirement plan market
  • Take actionable steps

"Advisors can visit the lounge to build upon conference insights, network with peers, have questions answered and continue the conversation with presenters, industry experts and the TD Ameritrade team," said Quon.  QuonWarrene will be available to answer questions on social media and digital communications as well as other technology solutions.

Additionally, Warrene will give a Boot Camp Presentation on social media titled, "Social Media in an Interactive World," during which he will discuss privacy and security for the socially engaged financial advisor. "Social media is key to any business development strategy," Warrene said. "But using digital outlets like LinkedIn, Facebook or Twitter means managing risk beyond compliance. It includes strengthening the security of online accounts, plus understanding how and where the data travels." Warrene will provide tips and advice on enhancing online security while remaining active on social networks.

DUE DILIGENCE AT THE T3 CONFERENCE

Quon and new team member Shigekuni will attend the Technology Tools for Today 2016 T3 Advisor conference on February 10-12 in Fort Lauderdale as part of their ongoing due diligence related to bringing the best technology solutions to QuonWarrene clients. "We are interested in learning about new products in the fintech arena and anticipate coming back with new ideas and solutions to share with our clients, based on the full agenda for the conference."

FINANCIAL TECHNOLGY SPOTLIGHT WEBINAR SERIES

QuonWarrene is also kicking off their Financial Tech Spotlight Webinar series, which will highlight a fintech company each month, starting with RetireUp on February 2 at 4pm EDT. This webinar will feature RetireUp VP Michael Roth, as he explores retirement planning technology. This is the first of a series of monthly webinars, hosted by QuonWarrene CEO and co-founder, Neal Quon. Upcoming webinars in March and April will feature, respectively, an end-of-life planning tool from Everplans, and a next-generation wealth management platform built on Roboadvisor DNA from Vanare.

"Many advisors are coming to us and asking how do you make sense of what technology is available in the market," said Quon. "We're connected to major players, as well as some you've never heard of, and we want to be advocates for clients and technology companies to have better onboarding experiences," said Quon. "Smaller firms have some great tools, too, but don't always have the marketing budget to share their message. We would like to shine the light on some of these players to allow them to feature the right-fit technology solutions that can help solve advisors' most common problems."
