Canon U.S.A. and EFI Announce Solutions Designed to Meet Market Demand for Highly Automated Workflow Solutions
Integration between Canon's PRISMAdirect, EFI Digital StoreFront® and EFI Pace™ solutions to be Demonstrated at EFI Connect 2016

MELVILLE, N.Y., Jan. 20, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Canon U.S.A., Inc., a leader in digital imaging solutions, has expanded its existing relationship with EFI™ to offer streamlined production workflow solutions that enable users to utilize the full breadth of Canon's sheetfed, toner-based digital presses. The Canon and EFI collaboration is designed to offer customers time saving, end-to-end workflow solutions that help automate processes from order submission to print and fulfillment.

The latest initiative between Canon and EFI has resulted in bringing together the PRISMAdirect order and workflow management solution, EFI's Midmarket Productivity Suite, including the suite's Digital StoreFront® web-to-print component and Pace™, its core MIS software. This offering provides an integrated solution for print providers to help meet the business goal of increasing efficiency and profitability. This combination of solutions leverages the industry standard JDF/JMF to integrate communication throughout the workflow and at EFI Connect will be outputting to the award-winning imagePRESS C10000VP digital color production press with the imagePRESS Server B5000.

To support workflows that do not require an extensive order management solution, Canon is announcing the availability of EFI Fiery® Central Solo and its compatibility to Canon's varioPRINT 135 Series and Océ VarioPrint 6000+ Series monochrome digital presses.  EFI Fiery Central Solo is an output management system designed to connect up to three printers to Fiery Central/Command WorkStation® as a centralized workflow integration hub. This allows for incoming orders from Digital StoreFront or Pace to be directly routed with job information to Fiery-driven digital presses and Canon varioPRINT and Océ VarioPrint 6000+ monochrome digital presses.

As a Platinum sponsor of EFI Connect, Canon will host live demonstrations of the PRISMAdirect integration with EFI workflow products from January 19 – 22, 2016 at the Annual EFI Worldwide Users' Conference in Las Vegas.

PRISMAdirect is commercially available and integration with EFI Digital StoreFront is available through Canon Solutions America and Authorized Canon Dealers via Canon's professional services organization. EFI Fiery Central Solo software including support for Canon varioPRINT 135 Series and Océ VarioPrint 6000+ Series will be available from Canon U.S.A. beginning in February.
