WASHINGTON, Jan. 19, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- The American College of Preventive Medicine, the leading U.S.-based physician organization focused on practice, research, publication and teaching of evidence-based preventive medicine, today announced the list of speakers slated to present at its upcoming symposium entitled, "Building Community Health & Wellbeing through Business, Culture and Policy."

Speakers at the symposium, which will explore the impact of a variety of societal influences on community health, include:

• Robin Schepper, a senior advisor to the Bipartisan Policy Center's Prevention Initiative and former Executive Director of the White House program, Let's Move.
       
• Dr. Robert W. Carr, president–elect of the American College of Preventive Medicine and director of the Executive Master of Science in Health Systems Administration Program at Georgetown University.
       
• Rick Brush, CEO of HICCup, an innovative health startup that addresses the multiple clinical, social and contextual determinants of health.
         
• Tevi Troy, president of the American Health Policy Institute and former deputy secretary of Health and Human Services.
        
• Victoria Kumpuris Brown, senior program officer at the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.
         
• Sarah Brokaw, program manager of the Montana Diabetes Prevention Program at the Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services.
         
• Chad Royal-Pascoe, National Vice President, Corporate Partnerships for the Boys & Girls Club of America.
         
• J.D. Kehrman, City Manager of Nevada, Missouri.

The speakers will address key questions related to community health and healthy living, including topics like engineering better health, the role of communities in healthcare, and strategies for pharmaceutical, insurance, health systems, and other healthcare companies to serve as agents for positive change.

Registration is now open for the symposium, which will take place Feb. 23, 2016, in Crystal City, Va. Early registration is encouraged, as space is limited.
