Lightning Hybrids to Debut its Hybrid System in Mexico at Expotransporte ANPACT

LOVELAND, Colo., Nov. 17, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Lightning Hybrids, developer and manufacturer of hydraulic hybrid systems for medium- and heavy-duty trucks and buses, will introduce its Energy Recovery System (ERS) for saving fuel and reducing emissions for truck and bus fleets throughout Mexico. The debut will take place during Expotransporte ANPACT in Guadalajara November 18 to 20, 2015. The Lightning Hybrids ERS will be featured on a diesel powered passenger city bus in cooperation with a local business partner.

To achieve fuel economy gains, the Lightning Hybrids ERS applies a hydraulic system to a vehicle to regenerate braking energy, which is stored and used during acceleration. The system, which does not have electric batteries, uses this otherwise wasted energy for acceleration, supplementing power from the internal combustion engine to reduce fuel costs for fleets and greatly cut emissions.  The Lightning Hybrids' ERS is compatible with all fuels types and is available for installation on new vehicles and can also be retrofitted to existing vehicles.

"Lightning Hybrids is now able to provide the fleet marketplace in Mexico with a unique hybrid technology which can significantly reduce operating costs by significantly reducing fuel use and vehicle maintenance while transforming fleets to more environmentally friendly operations," said Dave Brosky, vice president of sales, Lightning Hybrids. "We are excited to participate in the Expotransporte ANPACT show and to demonstrate the integral role hybrid systems will play in truck and bus efficiency."

About Lightning Hybrids
Lightning Hybrids designs and manufactures hybrid systems for medium- and heavy-duty fleet vehicles. The system provides fuel efficiency by regenerating braking energy, provides safer braking and more power for acceleration, and decreases greenhouse gas emissions. The Lightning Hybrids system does not have any batteries, instead safely and efficiently storing energy mechanically in composite hydraulic accumulators, which are a fraction of the cost and weight of batteries. The system can be installed on new vehicles as well as retrofitted on vehicles already in service. It is sold through a network of dealers and upfitters.
