American Society of Magazine Editors Introduces ASME Next Awards for Journalists Under 30
Reporters and editors working in print and digital media are eligible; Awards sponsored with MPA--The Association of Magazine Media

NEW YORK, Nov. 10, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- The American Society of Magazine Editors announced today the introduction of the ASME Next Awards for Journalists Under 30. The awards honor outstanding achievement by young magazine journalists working in print or digital media, including editors, writers, photographers, producers, graphic designers and photo editors.

"We are proud to introduce the ASME Next Awards," said Sid Holt, Chief Executive of ASME. "ASME has long been committed to fostering young talent—in fact, our Magazine Internship Program turns 50 next year. But the ASME Next Awards are something special—a chance to recognize the journalists who will shape the future of magazine media, both in print and online."

The ASME Next Awards are open to any journalist under the age of 30. Candidates must be nominated by an ASME member and work full time or freelance for an MPA-member print or digital publication. Four award winners will be chosen by a panel of judges chaired by Mark Jannot, Vice President, Content, National Audubon Society, and ASME President.

Sponsored by ASME in association with MPA—The Association of Magazine Media, the ASME Next Awards will be presented at the American Magazine Media Conference on February 2, 2016, the day after the Annual Ellie Awards Dinner, also sponsored by ASME.
